MVP TeamMate℠ Brand Development Process: How it Works

If you partner with us to build, promote or revitalize your brand, you can count on our marketing professionals to consider the unique nature of your company and product, as well as the competitive market and industry trends. While our multi-phase process can be customized to your specific project requirements, here are the core phases:

Phase One: Client Download Meeting and Competitive Branding Analysis

We’ll conduct a fact-finding and background meeting with you and your team to gain insights into the business, branding and marketing communications goals underlying your branding objective. These insights, gained through analysis of your brand and its competitors, serve to support our findings and recommendations in successive project phases.

Phase Two: Current State Assessment

Next, we’ll lead a focused, on-site discussion and brainstorming session with your team to review our findings and to explore the branding options for your company and/or its products. We’ll also address brand architecture and marketing communications asset creation in light of our competitive market and industry trends assessments.

Phase Three: Strategic Options Discussion

Based on your insights and feedback, we’ll present preliminary brand naming and brand architecture analysis, which will include alternative branding strategies, risk assessment and related recommendations.

Phase Four: Selection of Strategy and Development of Business Architecture Statements

Once your team selects which strategic path to take, we’ll conduct a follow-up session to explore your company’s mission, vision and values, what it stands for and why it exists. Through our understanding of these key statements, we'll help you formulate new business architecture statements, which are preliminary to developing successful brand architecture. Such statements include “our customers are…,” our point-of-difference is ...,” “our process is…,” “our people are…”. Once formulated, these business architecture statements serve as a foundation for the subsequent brand architecture process.

Phase Five: Brand Identification and Development of Brand Positioning Statements

With approved business and brand architecture statements in hand, we’ll next generate a new company corporate or product name, tagline and associated brand positioning statements. These statements will properly position your brand in the minds of its customers, distribution partners and employees. These definitions will jointly form the foundation upon which future marketing and communications efforts can be built and help ensure that your future online and offline communications, both visually and in writing, will be in sync with your company’s view of its mission, vision, values and brand.

Phase Six: Brand Development and Marketing Communications Action Plan and Budget

The last phase of the brand revitalization process focuses on the development and presentation of a Brand Development and Marketing Communications Action Plan and budget. This document will synthesize our prior research, strategy and creative work to jump-start your brand revitalization efforts. It will also include timelines and estimates for all future MarCom projects on- and off-line. With your input and approval, we’ll execute the most vital projects according to your timetable and budget.
